Since several months, Niobeth is preparing their new album, with the idea of going to the studio this year. The composition of the album is quite advanced and we expect we can soon reveal important information about its release.
Before this, the band will release an EP named "Dreaming" with estimated avaibility date about March or April. All the benefits obtained from the selling of this EP during the year 2010 will be donated to Spanish Red Cross for their projects of aid and reconstruction of Haití. Furthermore, the release will be accompanied by a promotional videoclip of the very song that gaves name to the EP.

David Priest of OnTrackMagazine.com recently conducted an interview with vocalist Simone Simons of the Dutch symphonic metal band EPICA. The chat, during which Simone reveals that she is planning on working on material for a solo album.
Norwegian gothic metallers TRISTANIA have entered the studio to begin laying down their new album for a spring/summer release. Guitarist/vocalist Anders Høyvik Hidle states, "Drum recordings for the new album is about to be finalized. 11 songs completed, only one left. Guitar and bass session is starting on Sunday. The result turns out to be great — we can't wait to release this baby!"
Songtitles set to appear on the new TRISTANIA CD include "Patriot Games", "Year of the Rat", "The Emerald Piper" and "Sirens".
Metal Blade Records has inked a deal with the outstanding Spanish newcomer DIABULUS IN MUSICA!
DIABULUS IN MUSICA is a female fronted Spanish metal band that started in 2006 and can be defined as symphonic metal with gothic elements, although their influences are quite diverse. The members of DIM are experienced young musicians who decided to leave other projects and commit themselves to this new band.
All of the members of DIM know each other from the local metal scene in Pamplona and wanted to work hard to create a different and serious project that could give expression to all their ideas. A goal they definitely accomplished with their upcoming debut album Secrets!

Finnish metal band MEMOIRA has parted ways with vocalist Jemina Pitkälä and is currently seeking a male or female replacement. Interested parties can send a vocal sample in mp3/wav format to memoiraband(at)gmail.com and a letter containing more information.
MEMOIRA's self-titled debut album was released in August 2008 via Nightmare Records.
The band's sound was previously described by the label as "epic melancholic metal that has progressive and gothic orchestral parts." According to Nightmare, MEMOIRA carries on "in the fashon of bands such as NIGHTWISH, EPICA, KAMELOT, WITHIN TEMPTATION, EVANESCENCE and LACUNA COIL."

Therion is in progress of recording a new album. As usual, Therion is being very secretive about the entire process, but I will reveal some details:
A new studio has been built for most of the recording of this album. The mix, and a few recordings, will be done at another studio - "A truly legendary studio!" according to Chris. Expect something spectacular, even by Therion's standards!
The recording will continue for the rest of the year, and probably also through January.
The February 5 concert at The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin featuring EPICA, THREAT SIGNAL and BLACKGUARD will be streamed live via TheRaveLive.com beginning at 9:00 p.m. EST.

EPICA's latest album, "Design Your Universe", landed at position No. 12 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists.
Italian gothic metallers MACBETH have spent the last few months writing and rehearsing material for their upcoming fifth album.

ATROCITY says in a statement, "Matze has been a part of ATROCITY from the beginning and did music with the band for more than 20 years. Both bands wish him the best for his future!"

Norwegian gothic metal icon Morten Veland (TRISTANIA, SIRENIA) has inked a deal with Napalm Records for his new band MORTEMIA. Morten promises his fans a "sweeping listening experience," which will follow the path of TRISTANIA's masterpiece "Beyond the Veil". Adcording to a press release, "The first songs stay true to his promise and offer beautiful melodies and bombastic choir passages, thus creating the perfect blend of traditional gothic metal and modern elements."
